Hi, I'm Rebecca aka "Desert Barbie" that is what my neighbors call me.... I started off twelve years ago doing research on building custom homes. Alternative Building had my interest peaked. Therefore, I started visiting homes that were constructed of many different alternative building materials. Straw Bale, Rammed Earth, Adobe, Cob, aerated concrete block and paper crete just to name a few. After five years of visiting and trying out some of these alternative building methods on a small scale...it helped me with designing and building The Extreme Green Carefree Castle. I started construction on the castle in July of 2008 and it took about two and a half years to complete. It was one of the hardest endeavors of my life although, yet so rewarding. When you truly believe in your dreams ,you can turn them into a reality. I have taken green and turned it into extreme green. The castle is completely off the grid but with class, sophistication and also very hi-tech amenities. Green is not just a practice it is a way of life......
